Serves: 4
Cooking time: 10-15 minutes
Seasoned generously with Great Northern Spice Co. Canadian Steak & Burger Seasoning, this burger is packed with savoury flavour and just the right touch of Canadian-inspired seasoning.
This Canadian Steak Burger recipe uses our Canadian Steak & Burger Seasoning.
INGREDIENTS
500g beef mince (ideally 15% to 20% fat for the best flavour and moisture)
1 tablespoon of Great Northern Spice Steak & Burger Seasoning
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil (only if pan frying)
1/2 red onion, finely diced
Handful of grated mozzarella (optional)
4 burger buns
Your choice of toppings (cheese slices, lettuce, tomato, mayo)
HOW TO COOK
In a large mixing bowl, add the mince, diced onion, mozzarella and seasoning and hand mix it together.
Form the patties: Divide the mix into 4 equal balls (125g each) and press them flat into round patties. Make a small indent in the middle of each patty with your thumb so they stay flat while cooking.
Pan fry - Add the olive oil and heat the pan to a medium heat. Cook the burgers for roughly 5 minutes on each side, or until it's reached your preferred done level.
Air fry - Add the burger patties to your air fryer and cook on 180oC for 15 minutes, turning over half way through.
BBQ or grill - depending on your cooking method and heat level, follow your appliances instructions.
Add cheese (optional): Put a slice on each burger during the last minute of cooking. Put a lid on the pan for 30 seconds to help the cheese melt. Then add the rest of your toppings like lettuce, tomato and pickles.
Rest and serve: Take the burgers out of the pan and let them rest on a plate for 2 minutes. Put them into the burger buns with your favourite toppings.
