INGREDIENTS

HOW TO COOK

  1. In a large frying pan on a medium to high heat, add the olive oil and start to fry the meatballs / veggie balls until browned - 5 minutes. Then transfer to a side plate and cover.

  2. Next, add the onion, garlic, carrot, and celery to the pan and fry until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in the tomato puree and cook for another minute.

  3. Add the red wine and stir in. Let it simmer for 5 minutes. Add the passata and 2 tablespoons of Sicilian Herb Seasoning and stir in.

  4. Let the sauce simmer on low heat for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Try splashing a little bit of Worcestershire sauce for extra flavour.

  5. Return the meatballs / veggie balls to the pan and let them cook in the sauce for another 15-20 minutes. Serve in bowls and enjoy!


TIPS FOR SERVING

Serve in a bowl over the gnocchi, or on their own with some crusty bread. For a low carb option, serve the meatballs on top of a salad bowl.
