Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of Great Northern Spice Spanish Sazon Seasoning

  • 12 meatballs (beef or veggie)

  • 1 finely diced red onion

  • 1 sliced red bell pepper

  • 1 teaspoon garlic puree or chopped garlic

  • 400g passata

  • 300g Tortellini (we recommend Spinach & Ricotta!)

  • A handful of grated mozzarella (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

How to cook

  1. In a frying pan on medium to high heat, add the olive oil. Once it’s hot, add the onion, red bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté them for about 3-4 minutes until they become fragrant and soft.

  2. Next, introduce the meatballs or veggie balls to the pan. Fry them for about 8-10 minutes until they are nicely browned on all sides. Remember to stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.

  3. Now it’s time to add our Spanish Sazon Seasoning along with the passata. Stir everything thoroughly and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. This will allow the flavors to meld beautifully.

  4. With about 5 minutes left of the sauce cooking, start preparing the tortellini. Boil water in another pot and cook the tortellini according to the package instructions.

  5. Once the tortellini is ready, drain it and place it in a bowl. Generously pour the meatballs and sauce over the tortellini. You can garnish your dish with freshly chopped parsley and a sprinkle of grated mozzarella if you desire.
